The downstream control gap

The checkout tool did its job. The finance question comes next.

The estimate at checkout is only the front half of the transaction. The settled cost appears later, across carrier, customs and returns evidence.

  1. 01 Checkout

    The sale is visible.

Shopify records what sold and may estimate or collect duties and taxes before dispatch.

  2. 02 After dispatch

    The evidence fragments.

Orders, product costs, carrier invoices, customs entries and returns sit in different records.

  3. 03 BorderLens

    The records meet again.

BorderLens matches the available evidence so finance and operations can see what changed and what needs review.

Launch pricing

One control system. Three operating bands.

Basic and Control cover one Shopify store and include the same core financial-control capability. More than one store moves to custom Enterprise pricing.

Basic

£99 / month

For a smaller international operation using one Shopify store.

  • One Shopify store
  • Up to 100 qualifying international orders per month
  • Up to £250,000 International Sales in any rolling 12-month period

Enterprise

Custom pricing

For multi-store, larger or more complex operations with an agreed operating scope.

  • More than one Shopify store
  • Above either Control ceiling
  • Or agreed entity, data, reporting or support scope

Both limits apply. You stay within a plan only while you are within both its monthly international-order and rolling 12-month International Sales ceilings. Exceeding either can trigger a plan review.

How plan measurement works

Orders: average qualifying international orders per month during the three most recently completed calendar months.

Rolling 12-month International Sales: qualifying international-order product subtotal recorded by Shopify in the store's GBP shop currency, after discounts and before post-fulfilment refunds, returns and chargebacks. Separately recorded shipping, VAT/GST, duties and import taxes are excluded.

We assess usage monthly. After initial plan assignment, an exceeded ceiling is treated as exceeded after two consecutive monthly assessments. A higher-priced plan still requires notice and any approval required through Shopify.

30-day assisted trial. Select and approve a plan through Shopify before the trial. Cancel before it ends to pay no subscription fee.
